In-store digital signage 'greener' than paper ads
Digital advertising in stores that can be updated electronically is more environmentally friendly than using paper-based systems that create waste, according to one ad sales firm. Stephen Henley, managing director of Bristol, England-based Henley & Henley, claimed that tests had proven that the screens reduced waste paper.

Samsung develops world's first 240Hz LCD screen
Samsung has announced that it has developed the world's first Blue Phase panel technology that allows it to achieve a 240Hz driving speed for high-speed video. The Blue Phase LCD panel will provides viewers with more natural on-screen motion. The design of the Blue Phase panel is called extremely cost efficient and Samsung says that the Blue Phase panels don't require liquid crystal alignment layers like today's most widely used LCD modes.

Samsung launches world's brightest 46-inch LCD
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. announced that it has begun mass-producing a 46-inch "high bright" digital signage panel — the brightest LCD panel in the world.
Samsung said that its new 1500-nit LCD panel is now available for use in digital signs for transit centers, bus shelters, museums, shopping malls and for use at point of sale in retail outlets, to replace outdated poster advertisings. The panel is designed to optimally accommodate the tremendous range of lighting conditions affecting displays.
